I am a strong believer that you should spend time in different countries around the world getting lost. Not the kind of lost where you are freaked out and need help getting home. But the kind of lost where you let go of your preconceived notions of what your society is to allow yourself to experience something new and different.

The more I travel the more I realise how hard it is to “get to know a place” as every town, city, village and community is constantly growing and evolving.  My home town, Canberra, has changed so much in the 8 years since I left, that I no longer know where the “hot” place to eat out is. But this just makes going back more fun, it’s a new adventure every time.

I’m not one to hop around visiting different countries, just to tick off the “must see places” on a long list.  If it takes me a little longer to see it all, because I am relaxing in the diving community on Koh Tao, or sampling all the gelato in Florence… then that is a price I am willing to pay. These pages are filled with the tips, recipes, activities and stories that I have discovered as I amble in and out of amazing countries all over the globe.
